Founded July 3, 1997, Hand Rolled Bagels has been serving New Hyde Park with the best bagels for over 25 years!!

The first year, owners Nick and Jean enlisted the help of their spouses and parents to help set up the store; our loyal customer base didn’t exist yet.

In order to drum up business in the opening months, Nick & Jean sent their father door to door promoting Free bagels. No gimmicks, no purchase necessary– the owners were confident that once the locals tried their bagels, they would be hooked. The marketing worked and many of the beginning customers have turned into some of their favorite long term “regulars”.

Nick & Jean are siblings along with being locals residents of Albertson, Nassau County. They have been in the food business for as long as both can remember. They owned a store in the mid 1980s in Rego Park, Queens for several years before selling it and moving their business to Long Island.

Their brother Mike is “The Coffee Guy”– check out our Coffee Page above for more info on that! They are proud to all work with one another and have attributed being family to the reason for their success.
